Shank selected as NCBWA Second-Team All-Region

EMPORIA, Kan. - St. Edward's junior Adam Shank was selected to the second-team of the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association's (NCBWA) South Central All-Region team last week.

Shank (Junior, Sugar Land, Texas) led St. Edward's in hitting with a .372 batting average and 63 RBI in 51 games played this season. The first baseman's RBI total also led the Heartland Conference, with the next closest competitor 15 RBI behind. Shank produced 73 hits that included 13 doubles, six triples and six home runs. His .592 slugging percentage also led the squad.

St. Edward's ended its season with a 27-24 record after finishing second in the regular season standings. They also advanced to the championship game of the Heartland Conference Championship before falling to #4 St. Mary's, 8-3.
