RICE 2009:
Third on the staff in appearances (25) and games in relief (22)... Finished five games, the third-highest total on the team... Tabbed as the starting pitcher three times, including the championship final of the NCAA Regional against Kansas State... Earned the start vs. KSU after notching his only save of the season three days before in the opening game of the Regional vs. Sam Houston State... Pitched the final two frames in the 5-2 victory over SHSU... Registered first career win on the road at nationally-ranked East Carolina, holding the heavy-hitting Pirates to no runs on three hits in 3.2 innings out of the bullpen... Notched second win three weeks later with two hitless frames and three strikeouts against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi... Struck out a career-high seven batters in a relief outing on the road at Sam Houston where he held the Bearkats scoreless for 5.1 innings... Pitched a career-long 5.2 innings in a Sunday start vs. Conference USA foe Marshall...First career start was across town at Houston in game two of the annual Silver Glove Trophy series, where he pitched three innings and scattered two hits...
